“Rei” – Universal Life
“Ki” – Life Force Energy
Most Frequently Asked Questions about Reiki
Reiki’s spiritual healing practice works by channeling universal life force healing energy to support and assist in physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing. While the concept is Japanese in origin, reiki is the life
energy that flows through all living things. Reiki treatments bring us closer to our original state of harmony by clearing, balancing, and grounding the chakras. It supports ones’ natural ability to heal by energizing the body and soul, reestablishing a spiritual equilibrium and
mental well-being, balancing the emotional and physical aspects of us, loosening energy blocks, and facilitating relaxation.
I work with my clients to focus this energy to flow where healing is most needed.

What happens during a reiki session?
Reiki treatments can last from 30 to 75 minutes. During a session, you’ll lie on a massage table fully clothed, as I gently place my hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations. I will use a series of 12 to 15 different hand positions.
The length of time that the practitioner leaves their hands in each position is determined by the flow of energy through their hands at each location. Reiki differs from other touch therapies in that there is no pressure, massage or manipulation involved. You may experience the energy in the form of sensations like heat, tingling or pulsing where I place my hands. Some feel sensations while others feel nothing at all. It is possible that the treatment will elicit an emotional healing response. Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful during reiki treatment, and many fall asleep during the process.
Is reiki covered by Insurance?
Unfortunately, at this time, reiki is not covered by insurance. However, I strive to keep my services affordable and accessible, and it is possible that reiki services are covered as a reimbursable expense through your HSA.
